TIRUCHIRAPALLI: Special teams have been formed to trace 15-year-old Dhileepan Raj, who reportedly performed a Caesarean surgery at a hospital near here, watched by his doctor parents, a top police official said on Tuesday.
The IG of police (Central Range), T Raja, told reporters that police were 'taking follow up action' on the investigation into the surgery performed by the boy, whose parents Dr Murugesan and Dr Gandhimathi were arrested on Monday.
Asked whether the hospital where the operation was performed would be ordered closed, based on evidence of the investigation team, headed by a Revenue Divisional Officer,he said police would take whatever action was required under law.
He said a deeper medical probe was needed to ascertain the actual identity of the woman patient on whom the surgery was performed. The video clipping reportedly screened to IMA members by the boy's father was about a surgical case that took place on March 25 last.
"Three months have elapsed since then and hence a deeper probe is needed," he said.
