Heavy rainfall forecast for Mumbai, parts of Maharashtra

MUMBAI: The Met Department has forecast heavy rains and thundershowers in the city and its suburbs in the next 48 hours.

Heavy rainfall at a few places with very heavy downpour at isolated places are likely in the districts of Greater Mumbai, Thane, Ahmednagar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nasik, Marathwada region and also in some other parts of the state, the weather department said.

Meanwhile, the Colaba observatory in south Mumbai has recorded 17.8 mm rainfall, while the Santacruz weather office in the suburbs has recorded 27 mm in the last 24 hours ending 8:30 pm.
