PANAJI: Results of all the 40 assembly seats in Goa, where counting is scheduled for June 5, are expected to be out by 11 am, state election officials said.

Goa poll results would be transmitted online to Election Commission through a specially designed software called GENESYS, they said. The counting would be held at three stations in Panaji and Margao.

The 40-member Goa legislative assembly went for polls on June 2. "Designed specifically for election counting, in 1999 the software was first successfully tried in Goa elections," said officials

The CMC limited, a subsidiary of Tata consultancy limited, has designed this software. The copyright of this software is with Election Commission. "The Data Management teams, which are formed at the Returning officers level, have commenced dummy result testing today to prepare for online transmission of the results to the Election Commission", the officials stated. The Election Commission's website, www.cec.gov.in, will be updating the results as they come.

"The results will be available on the website even before the TV channels or media flashes them," officials said adding that these results would be authentic as the data would be uploaded seconds after returning officer signs on the results.
