NEW DELHI: A local lawyers' body has questioned the conduct of the TV channel which exposed the alleged collusion between prosecution and defence in the BMW case claiming the media has resorted to a campaign to defame senior advocates RK Anand and IU Khan.

The New Delhi Bar Association (NDBA) of Patiala House Court where the trial of the case has been undergoing alleged that the footage of the sting operation was distorted.

"It is clearly understandable that the said footage and the reports is being distorted by the media for some ulterior motive and there is nothing incriminating in the conversation between Khan and Sunil Kulkarni (eyewitness in the case)," the NDBA said in a resolution passed on Friday.

"The conduct of the media, especially by NDTV and some print media is very derogatory not just to our senior member IU Khan, but also to the entire community of lawyers at large," the association said.

It alleged that the media had deliberately with held the reactions of the legal community which were in favour of senior advocates IU Khan and RK Anand.

Anand, who is defending the main accused Sanjeev Nanda, grandson of former Navy Chief SM Nanda and the dropped Special Public Prosecutor IU Khan, were allegedly shown influencing the witness in the sting operation.
