Bitta advises Dera to stay away from politics

JALANDHAR: In the wake of clashes between followers of the Dera Sacha Sauda and the Akalis and also police, All India Anti-Terrorist Front Chairman M S Bitta on Tuesday said the Dera should stay away from politics and politicians.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he said that though he respected Dera head Sant Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh, nobody could be compared with the Tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh.

"All political parties, including the SAD, Congress, and the BJP, should come clear over the issue and say that nobody can be compared to Guru Gobind Singh," Bitta said.

He also demanded an all-party meeting on the issue and the appointment of a commission to probe the matter.
