NEW DELHI: A Delhi Court on Wednesday granted bail to Paramjeet Kaur who was arrested with the suspended BJP MP Babubhai Katara in a human trafficking case.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau ordered for release of Kaur on the condition that she would appear before the investigating officer in the case every Monday in the morning hours.

The court enlarged her on furnishing a personal bond of Rs one lakh and a surety in the like amount.

It also directed Kaur to cooperate in the investigation in the case by appearing before the investigating officer as and when required by him.

On May four, the court had reserved its order on her bail plea after hearing the arguments of counsel from both the sides.

Kaur, who was caught with MP Katara at IGI Airport here on April 18 while trying to leave the country on the diplomatic passport of the MP's wife, had contended that she was herself a victim and was duped by her travel agent.

"I am not an accused. In fact, I have been duped by one agent Joginder Singh, who took my original passport and had assured me that my visit will be legal," she said in her bail application.

The police have booked Katara alongwith Kaur under 419 (cheating by impersonation), 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for cheating), 471 (using forged documents as genuine) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.

Katara was nabbed at the IGI Airport here while trying to take Paramjeet Kaur and a 15-year-old boy to Toronto on the passports of his wife Shardaben and son Rajesh respectively.
