Hutch reduces security deposit for int'l roaming at Rs 1,500

NEW DELHI: Telecom service provider Hutch on Monday said it has reduced the security deposit for international roaming to Rs 1,500 from Rs 10,000.

The basic international roaming to Hutch's mobile users would now be available at a monthly rental of Rs 99, it said in a statement. The Hutch customers can receive calls and SMS while roaming in over 180 countries across the world.

In a separate development, another operator Tata Indicom on Monday introduced special tariff cards for its prepaid users, which would enable them to make calls to the same network for as low as 19 paise per minute.

The company launched "Power" and "Turbo", two special tariff offers for its prepaid customers, which will offer discounted call charges, as low as 19 paise per minute at night and 39 paise in the morning, for a period of 30 days.

The customers would be charged Rs 49 for this scheme and can subscribe to these offers by sending a message to the Hutch service numbers, the statement said.
