Boss' day out

9:00 hrs:
I usually wake up fairly late on a Sunday morning because it really is the day for the family. I sit with a cup of tea and the newspaper. My entire Sunday is family focused, so this activity usually involves them.

9:30 hrs:
Breakfast on Sundays is hearty and we never compromise on that. It’s a lot of talk, catching up, discussion... all while eating a big heavy breakfast, which is usually pancakes or dosas, or something equally time consuming! Because we have the time, I prefer a more elaborate breakfast, one that takes a lot of time to make and is very wholesome.

By this time we are usually done with the meal and the kids sit down to homework if they have any, while I catch up on my email. I try and take home as little work as possible on Sundays. So even when I check work email, I try not to involve myself too much into it.

If there’s no homework, by this time we usually head out to the Otters club where the kids have a swim. I have great set of friends there that I treasure and the kids too have loads of company. My friends and I sit down with a beer and catch up, or if the weather is good we sit by the sea forever. It’s really lovely.

We are all back home — tanned and ravenous and sit down to another very hearty meal. The funny thing about our family lunch on Sundays is that we rarely allow for variation in the menu. It’s either a good Parsi Dhansak or prawn/fish curry with rice. Team it with beer and you just have to sleep! So a good nap’s due

16:30 - 18:00 hrs:
This time is strictly for the kids. As I don’t interfere too much with their school work during the week, on Sundays I sit down and catch up with their academics.

18:30 hrs:

Because of all the traffic and because most of the week is so busy we tend to not go out on Sunday evening. So I usually catch up with my reading. And if not that, we all sit down and watch television. Sometimes a good movie is also part of our Sunday evenings. The day friends drop in we spend some down time at home.

20:30 hrs
It’s usually an early dinner and then off to bed because everyone has a busy day the next day.
