KINGSTON: Murdered cricket coach Bob Woolmer's body will be flown to Cape Town in South Africa on Thursday accompanied by Jamaican police officials, who hope to gather more information for their investigation from his relatives.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Mark Shields, who is leading the probe, has taken charge of arrangements for the return of Woolmer's body via London, 'Jamaica Gleaner' reported.

Meanwhile, British tabloid 'The Sun' has reported that Scotland Yard experts, who were assisting the Jamaica police in the investigation, were expected to re-examine the corpse when it reached London.

"They will look at test results from the investigation's early stages," the paper said.

The 58-year-old Woolmer, a former England Test player and Pakistan coach, was found dead in his Jamaica Pegasus hotel room hours after his team's shock defeat by Ireland in the cricket World Cup.

Woolmer's body was in limbo for over a month since his murder on March 18, on the orders of Coroner Patrick Murphy, who released it following an indefinite postponement of his inquest, originally scheduled to begin on Monday.
