75-year-old man fires at five-year-old boy

NEW DELHI: In a bizarre incident, a five-year-old boy had a miraculous escape when a 75-year-old man allegedly fired at him in Okhla area of South Delhi on Saturday.

The boy, Naved, had gone to look out for his cricket ball in his neighbourhood in the evening when suddenly his elbow was hit by a bullet, a police official said.

He was given first aid at a hospital and later discharged.

Later, it was found that Md Amin, a retired official, had fired at the boy. On interrogation Amin told the police that he mistook the boy for a thief and fired at him.

The police has registered a case of hurt against Amin.
