NEW DELHI: The investigations in the alleged human trafficking racket involving Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Babubhai Katara seems to be getting murkier by the day. A senior Delhi policeman said that they suspect Katara lost his original passport and was using a duplicate one when he was arrested.

“We have asked the foreigner's registration office to give us details of his past tours. So far, we have found four cases, where is found guilty of human trafficking,” he said.

The Gujarat politician has been going overseas since 2005 and the police believe that he was very much involved in human trafficking since then, as he had women accompanying him every time he left the country. “Even earlier, the minister had used his wife’s diplomatic passport,” he said.

“What is even more surprising is that Katara managed to hoodwink everyone every time,” he added.
