Firing at Gurudwara at Talwandi Sabo; two injured

Two persons, including a 15-year-old boy, were injured when two groups of Nihangs clashed and exchanged fire at Gurudwara Talwandi Sabo on Sunday.

BATHINDA: Two persons, including a 15-year-old boy, were injured when two groups of Nihangs clashed and exchanged fire at Gurudwara Talwandi Sabo on Sunday, officials said.

The injured boy has been hospitalised, they said.

Police said it was investigating the reason behind the clash and had deployed force in the area to avoid any further clash.

According to the Gurudwara's sources the clash followed a dispute over succession to the throne of Baba Budha Dal whose present leader Baba Santa Singh is old and unable to move.

Baba Santa Singh had nominated Baba Surjeet Singh while another Baba Balvir Singh and his supporters were not happy with the move, they said.

No case has been registered and no arrest effected so far.
