Woman commits suicide after discovering husband's remarriage

THANE: A young woman who was married for last six-months committed suicide after she discovered that her husband had married another woman.

Poonam Pareek, a call centre employee hanged herself on March 14 and her parents have lodged a police complaint at Mira Road police station in this regard, police said.

Poonam had married one Rajesh Yadav, who was working as a salesman, in October last year against the wishes of her parents.

After a few days Rajesh started doubting Poonam's character and started harrassing her, police said.

Rajesh's parents wanted there son to divorce Poonam and fixed his marriage to another girl from their native place in Uttar Pradesh, police said.

Rajesh without informing Poonam went to his home town and married another girl on December 12, police said, adding after Poonam came to know about the second marriage she hanged herself.
