TRELAWNY/JAMAICA: Skipper Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar etched out impressive half-centuries as India posted 300 for 9 in their first practice game against the Netherlands in lead-up to the Cricket World Cup here on Tuesday.
As most of the Indian batsmen perished because of poor shot selection, Dravid and Tendulkar batted sensibly to set the platform for a big total after the team suffered a mini collapse.
The veteran duo stabilised the innings after the top order squandered a good start to push the team to back foot.

Tendulkar’s run-a ball innings was attractive as he punished the inexperienced Dutch bowlers, belting five fours and two sixes in his knock of 61.
Dravid, who provided a solid support to Tendulkar, switched to aggressive mode after reaching his half-century and emerged as the highest scorer for the side. His 74 came off 92 balls and was studded with five boundaries and two lofty sixes.
Earlier, after being put in to bat, Indian openers Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly took advantage of the soft attack of their opponents and scored 60 runs for the first wicket.
However, slow medium bowler R ten Doeschate brought back the minnows into the match by delivering a double blow and scalping Ganguly (19) and Sehwag (28) in two successive overs.
The Dutch bowler eventually returned the performance of his life by capturing five wickets for 57 runs.
