NEW DELHI: Indians, more than people from any other country, rate terrorism as one of the biggest concern areas, a fear vindicated by the blasts on the trans-border Samjhauta Express.

For Indians, it is the increasing terror attacks in the country and abroad that has become the area of major concern in last few months, according to an on-line survey conducted by the ACNielsen recently.

The survey was conducted among Internet users in 46 countries from Europe, Asia Pacific, North America, the Baltics and the Middle East.

31 per cent people in India consider terrorism as a area of greatest concern for them, while only 15 per cent people globally considered terrorism a major issue.

Britain, which faced a major terror strike in July, 2005, makes it to the second position with 26 per cent Britons concerned about terrorism.

Denmark follows the list with 25 per cent people rating terrorism as a major issue of concern.

"Looking at the way terrorism is hitting across the country be it in Mumbai or up northeast in Guwahati or for that matter Kashmir Valley, terrorism is surely a big concern
that the country is facing," said Sarang Panchal, Executive Director, ACNielsen, South Asia.

The report also said though the country's intelligence and security forces were trying their best to check terrorism, people still feel some kind of security threat in public
places.
