'Regularisation of unauthorised buildings soon'

NEW DELHI: The MCD on Wednesday informed the Delhi High Court that it will soon annouce the date for inviting applications for regularisation of unauthorised constructions under the regularisation scheme in the city.

The MCD also challenged the powers vested with the monitoring committee appointed by the High Court while executing the demolition drive in different areas in the city.

Appearing for MCD, advocate Sanjeev Sen told the Bench comprising Chief Justice M K Sharma and Justice Rekha Sharma
that MCD has decided for regualrisation of unathorised constructions and the cut off date for the applications will be May 31,2007. The civic agency will consider the applications by July 31, 2007.

He also said the applicant will have to give an undertaking that the unauthorised structure will be demolished by July 31.
