Two murders within 24 hrs in metropolis

Two separate incidents of murder have been reported from the metropolis in the past 24 hours, police said here on Friday.

MUMBAI: Two separate incidents of murder have been reported from the metropolis in the past 24 hours, police said here on Friday.

In the first incident, miscreants assaulted a 30-year-old engineer Mahendra Nikhalji at 9:40 am at MMRDA colony in Chembur in North East Mumbai. The cause of the crime is yet to be ascertained, sources said.

In another incident, a man was killed by his brother at Santacruz in western suburbs. Chandrakant Shigavan (32) murdered his elder brother Prakash Shigavan (45) over consuming alcohol at 2235 hrs last night. Chandrakant has been arrested and further investigations are on, sources added.
