TIRUCHIRAPPALLI: A 17-year-old student from Tamil Nadu has claimed a place in the Guinness Book of Records by playing the keyboard continuously for 72 hours.

Robin Patricks, a student of St John Vestry Higher Secondary school in Tiruchirappalli, started his venture at 10a.m on January 13 at a hotel auditorium in the presence of hundreds of curious on-lookers.

The earlier Guinness record was reportedly 48 hours. The feat was duly documented and would be sent to the Guinness Book authorities for an entry, Patricks said.

His endeavour was monitored by a jury comprising eminent personalities of the city. He was also observed by a medical team.

Patricks was on a liquid diet and in between, he developed low blood-pressure. He dedicated his feat to his favourite leader President A P J Abdul Kalam.

Patrick, who started his keyboard lessons at the age of five, has performed over 500 concerts and also has many lyrical compositions to his name.
