Vote decides husband for a girl

BALLIA/UP: A girl was married off to a boy who beat his elder brother in a vote held by villagers after a dispute between the two siblings who would take her hands, police sources said.

The marriage of the girl of Bishambhara village in this district was fixed with the elder brother and the wedding party had reached the venue on time but the younger one suddenly insisted on tying the nuptial knot with her and created a ruckus.

A voting was held to select the groom from among the two brothers and the younger brother was declared the winner with 32 of the 50 votes polled.
