NEW DELHI: The government on Friday dismissed the possibility of a mid-term poll after the Budget Session of Parliament next year.

"The move is not aimed at holding early elections, but to go in for an appendix to the National Common Minimum Programme of the United Progressive Alliance," Parliamentary Affairs Minister PR Dasmunsi told reporters.

His response came when asked about his statement that the government planned to complete most of the legislations on the coalition's flagship programmes by March 31 meant that the Congress was preparing for mid-term polls.
