The Sports Movies and TV Festival will be held in India for the second time

The Sports Movies and TV Festival, which has been organised and promoted by Federation International Cinema Television Sportifs (FICTS) since last 23 years, is now being held in Mumbai for the second year. Connectivity with any sports in the film, documentary or TV show is the basic requirement for any filmmaker or TV producer / director to participate in the festival.

Festival director Ritesh Sinha says, “The reason behind bringing this festival to India is to give a platform to young and talented filmmakers. A good idea that gets translated into a film is a dream come true for any young maker. This is the first film festival aimed at realising those dreams. We hope this festival, which is very popular in Italy, is well- received by the filmmaking and the sports community in India.”

The festival, which will be held between  18—21  January 2007, has a jury comprising of filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, top cop Javed Khan, journalist Shraddha Sukumaran, billiards champion Michael Ferreira and cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar. Eighty films from 20 countries will be screened at the festival.
