MUMBAI: Tennis and archery have been added to the list of disciplines for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, a top Indian sports official said on Saturday.

"The executive board has cleared men's and women's tennis and archery," Randhir Singh, secretary general of the Indian Olympic Association said.

The Commonwealth Games Federation met in Kuala Lumpur where India also pushed for the addition of billiards and snooker, which were not approved.

The inclusion of tennis and archery increases India's medal prospects after they finished fourth with 22 gold medals in the last Games in Melbourne behind Australia, England and Canada.
