NEW DELHI: A Delhi Court on Tuesday framed charges against a key aide of Abdul Karim Telgi, the kingpin in the multi-crore fake stamp paper case.

Metropolitan Magistrate Sameer Bajpai framed charges against one Ashfak Mulla for entering into criminal conspiracy with Telgi and others for selling fake stamp papers in the national capital.

The accused was also charged under section 258 (sale of counterfeit government stamp) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

CBI, which is probing the case, alleged that Mulla in connivance with Telgi and his associate A G Thorat had sold fake stamp papers and stamps in the capital and adjoining areas.

Mulla, who was in judicial custody in a Hyderabad jail, was produced before the city court for framing of charges.

Mulla and Thorat were managing the affairs of Telgi's Delhi based firm "M/s Prime Services", the CBI alleged.

The court, in January second this year, had framed similar charges against Telgi and Thorat.
