The Rolling Stones have been forced to reschedule or cancel several dates on their United States tour as ageing front-man Mick Jagger battles a sore throat, promoters and band representatives said Tuesday.

LOS ANGELES: The Rolling Stones have been forced to reschedule or cancel several dates on their United States tour as ageing front-man Mick Jagger battles a sore throat, promoters and band representatives said Tuesday.   
 
Jagger, 63, has suffered throat problems regularly since August and was urged to rest his vocal chords on advice from doctors.   
 
The band last week cancelled a concert in Atlantic City at short notice and scratched a rare appearance at a New York club on Tuesday that is expected on Wednesday.
 
The show is to be filmed by director Martin Scorsese for a DVD.
 
A Stones concert in Oakland on Sunday has been rearranged for Monday, while the Atlantic City date will now take place on November 17.
 
A concert in Vancouver has been changed from this Friday to November 25, making it the final leg of their North American tour.    
 
The band's November 18 gig in Los Angeles has been bumped back to November 22, while a date in Honolulu has been cancelled altogether.   
 
Health problems with members of the Stones have dogged the tour.   
 
In August, Jagger's laryngitis forced the cancellation of two shows in Spain while the start of the tour was delayed after guitarist Keith Richards suffered a head injury when he fell off a coconut tree at an exclusive Fiji resort.
