Wish you could just fly over Mumbai’s traffic snarls? Unfortunately, Mumbaikars trying to reach the airport will have to wait a while as plans for one such service, by Kingfisher Airlines (KFL), have been grounded for the time being.

“We are still waiting for clearances; besides there is no helipad in south Mumbai which we can use. The state government has been talking about a helipad at Sassoon Docks but there hasn’t been any notification so far,” said Vijay Mallya, Chairman and CEO, Kingfisher Airlines Ltd.

A senior KFL official said that though the project was facing trouble in Mumbai, “we are going to try and make this work soon.” But, Bangaloreans can look forward to enjoying this service by May 2007.
