NEW YORK: Leander Paes and Czech Republic's Martin Damm advanced to men's doubles second round with a facile victory over Petr Pala and Robin Vik at the US Open Grand Slam tennis here on Friday.
Paes and Damm, the sixth seeds, knocked out the Czech combo 6-1 6-2 in the first round.
The Indian star was to later pair up with Samantha Stosur of Australia against Belarussians Max Mirnyi and Victoria Azarenka in the mixed doubles opening encounter.
