Shobhana Bhartiya is new Audit Bureau chief

Shobhana Bhartiya, Vice Chairperson and Editorial Director of HT Media Ltd, New Delhi, was on Friday elected chairperson of the Audit Bureau Of Circulations for 2006-2007.

MUMBAI: Shobhana Bhartiya, Vice Chairperson and Editorial Director of HT Media Ltd, New Delhi, was on Friday elected chairperson of the Audit Bureau Of Circulations for 2006-2007.
 
Bhartiya has been a member of the council of management of ABC since 1999 and deputy chairperson for 2005-2006.
 
A Member of the Rajya Sabha, she is involved with industry bodies in India and abroad. She is also a member of the Commonwealth Press Union, London, and International Press Institute, Vienna.
 
She is on the board of governors of the Birla Institute of Technology and some of India's most prestigious educational institutions and universities. Bhartiya is a member of the high level group Alliance of Civilisations formed by the secretary general, United Nations.
 
Bhartiya brings with her the experience and expertise of over two and half decades in print media and journalism.
 
She is a recipient of the Padma Shri for excellence in journalism.
    
Anil Kapoor, Managing Director and CEO of FCB Ulka Advertising Pvt Ltd, has been elected as the deputy chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations for 2006-07.
  
Those elected as members of the Council of Management of Audit Bureau of Circulations are CH Kiron (Eenadu), Ravi Dhariwal (Navbharat Times), Vijay Darda (Lokmat), T Venkattram Reddy (Deccan Chronicle), Shailesh Gupta (Dainik Jagran), Amitabha Datta (The Telegraph) and Manoj Kumar Sonthalia (The New Indian Express).
