'Martyr tapes recorded by UK terror plot suspects found'

LONDON: British anti-terror police have reportedly found several 'martyr tapes' apparently recorded by some of the suspects of an alleged plot to destroy US-bound passenger jets starting from London.

At least half a dozen martyrdom videos were recovered in the course of searches in addresses of some of the 23 suspects being held in custody since the plot was foiled, the BBC reported.

An unofficial police source said the recordings -discovered on laptop computers - appear to have been made by some of the suspects being questioned.

According to BBC television, the suspects allegedly recorded their last statements in preparation for suicide attacks.

Scotland Yard has refused to comment on what officers are finding.

The apparent recovery of martydom videos came a day after police reportedly found a suitcase containing components needed to make an explosive device, in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, northwest of London.

Police are continuing to search woodland at High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire and 14 other addresses.

The Metropolitan Police, which is leading the inquiry, has said it has already completed searches of 36 business and residential sites as also of 20 vehicles.

Every police force in the UK is now involved in the investigation, BBC said adding the 43 forces in England and Wales, eight in Scotland and the Police Service of Northern Ireland have sent, or are sending, officers to assist.
