Aamir to host housewarming party in Wai

Aamir Khan will be hosting a house warming party for his new house in Wai, Panchgani, on Friday. According to sources, Khan has invited a whole bunch of his friends to be there for the celebrations. While a close friend of Aamir has confirmed the bash, he refused to divulge any more details. The party will start on Saturday and go on till Sunday. Aamir’s parents and children are also expected to be present for the bash.

The house in Wai is very special to Aamir for a number of reasons — chiefly, of course, because he had married Kiran Rao there in December last year. The sprawling two-acre property originally belonged to director Homi Adjania’s parents. Aamir reportedly bought in last month for Rs seven crore.

The house has at least four rooms, a huge garden complete with hammocks and swings and a well in the backyard. Another reason why Aamir put his finger on it was the fact that his children — Junaid and Ira — are apparently also very fond of the place.

Aamir himself fell in love with Wai during the shooting of his film ‘Mangal Pandey’. Kiran was assisting Ashutosh Gowarikar for ‘Swades’, which was being shot in Wai at the same time as Aamir’s film. The couple would meet after their shoots and Wai became the setting for Aamir and Kiran’s friendship to blossom into a full-fledged romance.
