NEW DELHI: A woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a
Delhi Metro train at Chandni Chowk on Tuesday morning.
Twenty-five-year-old Paramjit Singh Kaur jumped onto the Metro tracks from platform number two of the Chandni Chowk station on the underground section of the rail network around 9:20 a.m., DMRC sources said.
Police sources said Paramjit Kaur, wife of one Gurmeet Singh, was a resident of Ganesh Nagar locality in Janakpuri in West Delhi.
They said Kaur had been missing from her home since Monday evening.
Traffic on the Central Secretariat-Vishwavidyalaya route was affected for over 40 minutes due to the incident, the sources said.
