PATNA: Two legislators and their associates brandishing weapons allegedly stormed the office of senior IAS officer Pancham Lal and threatened to eliminate him if he did not revoke the suspension of a motor vehicles inspector.

Avnish Kumar Singh and Babloo Dev, BJP and RJD legislators respectively from East Champaran district, forcibly entered Transport Commissioner Lal's office on Monday evening and asked him to rescind his order suspending a motor vehicle inspector of Patna named Sunil Tiwari.

"I had just returned from a meeting of the Transport Advisory Committee when the MLAs suddenly entered my room with armed cohorts," Lal said.

"The MLAs and their henchmen used abusive language," he said, alleging that their intentions were "to get me liquidated".

"Avnish Kumar Singh asked me to immediately revoke the suspension on the inspector who was his relative," Lal said.

"When they left, I telephoned Chief Secretary G S Kang and Director General of Police Ashish Ranjan Sinha and told them about the incident," he said.

Official sources said the matter was brought to the notice of the chief minister, who ordered the police chief to to take action.
