NEW DELHI: The increased smuggling of drugs due to trans-border civilian movement between India and Pakistan undertaken by both countries recently has alarmed the security agencies.
The trafficking of drugs through the borders has increased by 30-40 per cent in last one year and the civilian movement is one of the factors said a senior Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official.
The two routes that are responsible for the increased trafficking are the Poonch-Rawlakot and Srinagar-Muzaffarabad opened in the last two years.
