Lalu's relative shot dead

Sonelal Choudhary, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and a relative of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, was on Wednesay shot dead at Mirganj Bazaar in Bihar's Gopalganj district, police said.

GOPALGANJ: Sonelal Choudhary, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and a relative of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, was on Wednesay shot dead at Mirganj Bazaar in Bihar's Gopalganj district, police said.

Choudhary, who is a relative of Lalu from his in-laws' side, was shot at and critically injured by three motorcycle-borne attackers in the morning.

He was taken to a hospital in Siwan where he succumbed to injuries, they said.

As news of his death spread, angry locals blocked the Mirganj-Gopalganj highway, with his body, demanding immediate arrest of the killers.

Shops remained closed in Mirganj Bazaar in protest against the incident.
