KOTA/RAJASTHAN: Accusing the BJP of straying from its ideology, firebrand Hindutva leader Uma Bharti on Sunday said she was "thrown out" of the party as she had caused embarrassment to some senior leaders.

"I was thrown out of the BJP under a conspiracy because the policies and principals I had been emphasising upon were not to the liking of senior party leaders," the Lok Janshakti party leader said.

The expelled BJP leader alleged that the BJP was no longer a party with a difference and had become "opportunistic".

BJP was formed with the firm ideology that it has nothing to do with power brokers but has completely strayed from its basic principals, she alleged.

On the chances of her party coming to power in the state, she said it will have a substantial presence in the next government both at the Centre and in the state.

"We will contest for all the seats in the state in the next elections," she said.

Criticising the Vasundhara Raje government in Rajasthan, Uma said because of its liquor policy the liquor is freely available than water even in rural areas.

Bharti also flayed former prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his reported remarks on Rahul Gandhi.
