LONDON: Russian star Nadia Petrova has pulled out of this year's Wimbledon because of a groin injury, organisers announced on Friday.
Petrova, who had been seeded 7th, is replaced in the draw by Ukraine's Julia Vakulenko, a lucky loser from the qualifiers.
Petrova is the third leading player to pull out of the women's singles following the withdrawals of Serena Williams and Lindsay Davenport.
