NEW DELHI: Jet Airways chief Naresh Goyal was on Thursday given a clean chit by the government after a four-month inquiry.

Home Ministry sources said nothing adverse was found against him from the security point of view.

The matter was referred to the ministry by the Civil Aviation
Ministry in February when Jet Airways was making a bid to acquire Air Sahara.

Four of the five new directors, who were to form part of the Air Sahara Board, had been given clearance by the Home Ministry.

The probe by security agencies found nothing against Goyal from the security point of view, the sources added.

They, however, said the security clearance was not in anyway related to the developments in the Jet-Sahara deal that has fallen through.
