The US Hip Hop dance group 'Havikaro', which uses dance to communicate their message of positive life choices and clean living among young people, is all set to rock the capital on Wednesday.

The Houston-based group, which started out in 2000 when a group of friends chose dance over negative activities such as drugs and violence in their neighbourhood, will perform in the capital for two days, to spread their message among the youth here.

The Group, which is known for break dancing, popping and flunk, will conduct three performances in Delhi, with their big performance taking place at Centrestage Mall in Noida on Thursday. Havikaro, which includes Richard Camargo, Amado Ramirez, Joel Martinez and Kirk Beecher, is in the capital as part of a three-nation tour of India, Turkey and Turkmenistan from June 21 to July 7.

HaviKoro has toured all over the world including Moscow, Paris, Frankfurt, Tokyo and London. They have also shared the stage with artists and associations such as Destiny's Child, Limp Bizkit, Coolio, Black Eyed Peas and P.O.D.

For the past five years, members of HaviKoro have been Hip Hop instructors with the Houston Independent School District. HaviKoro was recently sponsored by a San Diego clothing company, Tribal Gear along with major artists such as Tony Touch, P.O.D. and Limp Bizkit.

Sponsored by Span magazine, the flagship publication of the US Embassy, and the American Information Resource Center, the event is an attempt to share with young Indians the message of a clean and positive life. ''We are very excited about bringing popular American culture to India. Havikaro will be a treat to watch and they promote a message of positive life choices which is very pertinent for the youth of today, whether they are here in India or in the US,'' Span Editor-in-Chief Corina Sanders said.
