LUCKNOW: International mafia don Om Prakash Srivastava alias 'Babloo', tied down by myriad criminal cases, is planning to tie the knot. The one-time point man of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim has been in jail for 11 years now. The criminal, charged with murders and abductions, is now busy plotting his marriage and then a honeymoon in Shimla.

"We are hopeful that he might be out of jail in the next two-three months," his counsel Deepak Massey told DNA on phone from Delhi. On Tuesday last, the Supreme Court turned down Babloo's application for parole to get married, saying that the apex court is not a "marriage bureau". He was asked to approach the Delhi High Court for this.

Regardless of the legal wrangles, his friends and associates in Lucknow have begun planning a big, fat wedding for the don. "It would be a historical occasion," said his old-time friend and advocate Ram Ugrah Shukla. "It would be a royal affair… like a Maharaja's wedding," he told DNA, adding that 101 elephants and horses would lead the "barat".

Another close Babloo associate, not wanting to be identified, said there were plans to flow in "Bhai's friends" from Dubai, Singapore, Nepal and even France and Australia. "There would be VIPs and VVIPs, top politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen," he said.  But none of them is willing to reveal the girl's identity. "The girl is from Lucknow. She's a computer programmer and daughter of a local builder," is all Shukla would reveal. He denied rumours that the girl is a journalist working for a news channel in Delhi.

Babloo's associates reveal that once out of jail, Babloo plans to take to fulltime politics, and the wedding would be an occasion to showcase his strength. Babloo fought the Lok Sabha election in 2004 from Sitapur. He is now eyeing a BSP ticket for the next UP Vidhan Sabha election and also plans to contest for Mayorship of Allahabad.

That's not all. Babloo also has celluloid dreams. His book "Adhoora Khwaab" (unrealised dream), a veritable guide on how to plot abductions and extortions, is to be made into a film. He wants Ajay Devgan to portray him in the film.
