Mika's bodyguard, friend get bail

MUMBAI: A local court on Monday granted bail to the bodyguard and a friend of pop singer Mika Singh in the molestation case filed against them by Bollywood starlet Rakhi Sawant.

Jasvir Singh alias Tiger, bodyguard of Mika Singh, was arrested along with Mika's friend Vikky Singh on June 17 on the charge of criminal intimidation.

They were granted bail on cash of Rs 5,000 each by a magistrate in suburban Andheri.

Both had applied for bail on the day of their arrest but the court asked them to file their applications in a regular court on Monday and remanded them to police custody.

A sessions court had earlier granted anticipatory bail to Mika in this case. He appeared before Oshiwara police on Monday in keeping with the court orders and answered questions put to him by investigating officers, his lawyer Dipesh Mehta said.

Mika was booked for molestation and assault by Oshiwara Police on the complaint lodged by Rakhi Sawant claiming that he kissed her against wishes at his birthday party held on June 10.
