LONDON: American James Blake upset triple defending champion Andy Roddick 7-5 6-4 in the Stella Artois championships semi-finals on Saturday.   

 

Blake, who had lost all six previous encounters with his compatriot, contained Roddick's rocket serve and outhit him from the baseline at Queen's Club.   

 

The fifth seed will play Australian Lleyton Hewitt in Sunday's final of the pre-Wimbledon grasscourt event. Hewitt overcame Briton Tim Henman 6-3 3-6 6-2 in their semi-final.
