Mika Singh granted bail

Sessions Judge Shrihari Davare on Saturday granted anticipatory bail to pop singer Mika Singh, accused of forcibly kissing Bollywood personality Rakhi Sawant.

The bail, on sureties of Rs20,000, was granted because there was no complaint of criminal intimidation in the first information report (FIR). Criminal intimidation is the only non-bailable offence Mika is charged with. The other offences are all bailable.

The judge also ordered Mika to produce sureties within two weeks from Saturday to confirm bail. Mika was also ordered to report to the Oshiwara police station every Monday and Wednesday between 5.30pm and 7pm till the police filed the chargesheet.

He cannot leave India without the judge’s prior permission.
