No ill will: Bajaj

MUMBAI: Sixty-seven year old Rahul Bajaj on Monday said NCP, BJP and Shiv Sena have supported him as an independent candidate. “I spoke to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and she was gracious to return my call this morning. I am not against any political party.”

He said his family was associated with the Congress since Mahatma Gandhi’s days. Jamnalal Bajaj and his late father Kamalnayan Bajaj were elected as members of parliament from Wardha.

Bajaj confessed it was the right time to step into politics since his sons and other family members have taken up the responsibilities of running the business and relieved him from the daily grind.

“I already feel a bit old at this age. But it is better to join politics now than at the age of 80 years,” he said.
