NEW DELHI: Winds, accompanied by light showers, welcomed the people of the national capital on Friday morning and brought down the mercury by four degrees.
The winds, which the weatherman said are an offshoot of the upper air cyclonic storm originating from Haryana and its neighbouring areas, swept the capital and was followed by light showers around 8.00 am.
However, the weatherman said the rainfall was largely in traces and limited to some areas of the capital.
The wind and the rain brought about a coolness in the atmosphere, hich was likely to prevail throughout the day, the met department said.
In fact, the mercury was likely to witness a drop by four to five degrees from the temperature of 41 degree Celsius on Thursday.
The weather office has predicted a partly cloudy sky with more rains and thundershowers in some areas of the capital in the next 24 hours.
