Amit Rastogi is a class apart. In January this year, Amit’s family had to face some financial trouble. To tide over these problems, just 60 days prior to his CBSE exams, Amit took up a job at a call centre and worked there even during his examinations.

He scored an aggregate of 72 per cent and 92 in his accountancy. “I used to work night shifts.  I  kept my job and took exams at the same time,” he said. “I used to take my books to office. On lean days, I would study there. After work, I would take a nap and then study for 3-4 hours,” said Amit.

“We gave him support from our side. He is a brave boy,” said Avnita Bir, principal, Ramnarain Podar High School.

Amit wants to become a chartered accountant.

“Accountancy is my favourite subject,” he said confidently.
