The Western Railway is readying itself for monsoons and has decided to expedite the quadrupling work between Borivali and Virar. For this major blocks will be undertaken at Borivali from May 19 to 25.

On May 20, 132 of the 484 train services to Borivali will be cancelled and 135 will be terminated at stations before Borivali. On May 21, 236 services will be cancelled and 42 will be terminated at stations before Borivali. On May 22, 16 services will be cancelled.

Similarly, 14 will be cancelled on May 20, 72 will be cancelled and two will terminate at stations before Virar on May 21 and six services will be cancelled on May 22. Officials said the trains terminating at Borivali will now stop at the newly-constructed platform no. 7. Earlier, trains used to terminate the platform no. 1.

Major blocks have also been taken from 11pm of May 19 to 4.40am of May 22. Due to these blocks, WR has coordinated with BEST to run 300 additional bus services from May 20 to May 21.
