Exotic food festivals abound in the Capital.

All those Delhiites who have not been able to take off to cooler climes, the Capital is offering some interesting gastronomical breaks. For the first time, Delhiites will get to savour Vietnamese food, a cuisine that’s become a rage abroad. “We wanted to give our clients a feel of what is popular on the international circuit at our restaurant Machan. In fact, Vietnamese is very light and healthy cuisine,” said Neha Garg, PR executive, at the Taj Mahal hotel.

Chef Choung of Blue Ginger, Taj Bangalore, says Vietnamese cuisine is a historical blend of the food and style of cooking of its former rulers. On offer are a range of recipes such as raw mango salad with prawns, fresh rice paper roll with Tofu and vegetable soup corn kernel paste on sugarcane sticks and East Coast king prawns in tamarind sauce.

Meanwhile, The Grand is hosting a Risotto festival at Brix, its Italian restaurant. The festival will focus on culinary treats from northern Italy’s Piedmont and Lombardy region. “We have a menu that includes dishes with  rice varieties like Arborio, Vialone Nano and Carnaroli served along with a glass of Bardolino (An Italian red wine),” says a hotel spokesperson.
