MUMBAI: Wild card entrant Rishabh Parikh of Gujarat sent the top seed packing out of the championship when the main challengers got down to business at the Xtra National Series Tennis at the Practennis here on Monday.
 
Also making a premature exit from the championship was the boys under-14 top-seed Samip Mehta also from Gujarat. Parikh handed him a 6-4, 6-2 verdict to make the second round in the tourney. In another close tie, No. 3 Mohit Mayur of Tamil Nadu survived a scare before overcoming fancied Karan Avlani of Maharashtra 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in a first round tie.
