The benchmark Sensex continued to set new peaks as it gained over 123 points in the first one-hour of trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday on aggressive buying, more confined to heavy-weight Reliance Industries.

MUMBAI: The benchmark Sensex continued to set new peaks as it gained over 123 points in the first one-hour of trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday on aggressive buying, more confined to heavy-weight Reliance Industries.
The Sensex was higher by 123.36 points at a new high of 12,434.08 points as the heaviest scrip on the index - Reliance Industries -shot up by Rs 53.45 at Rs 1088.20.
The buying in RIL was sparked by reports of the company receiving a major order for special economic zone (SEZ) in Haryana.
Rival National Stock Excahnge index Nifty also scaled to a new peak of 3661.05 by gaining 26.80.
