NEW DELHI: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Wednesday remembered late BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan as an aggressive representative of country's youth.

"In his death, the country has lost a skilled organiser, a forceful orator and an aggressive representative of its youth," Vajpayee said. The former Prime Minister, who recently called Mahajan the BJP's "Lakshman", said his leadership skills not only benefited the party but also the country.

"He played a key role in nation-building. He was able to win trust of our opponents also as he carved a niche for himself in the party," Vajpayee remarked.

The former Prime Minister, who paid floral tributes at the photograph of Mahajan placed at the BJP headquarters.

"He held key positions in the party and carried out all his responsibilities well," Vajpayee said.

"Bina Badlon Ke Bijli Girne Ki Charcha Hamne Suni Hai. Yahan Apni Akhon Se Bharat Ki Tarunai Ko Puri Tarah Se Viksit Hone Se Pehle Hi Kaalchakra Ne Isko Ham Se Cheen Liya!"
