MUMBAI: Though senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan’s health has slightly improved, high profile visitors continued to throng Mahim’s Hinduja hospital. The decision to operate Mahajan is likely to be taken by Monday morning.
 
The mood on Sunday was positive, with everyone praying for his speedy recovery. More than 2,000 well wishers have signed the message notebook outside the hospital.
 
Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP president Rajnath Singh, BJP leaders Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Ravishankar Prasad, Shahnawaz Husain, Anantkumar, Vijaykumar Malhotra, Rajastan Chief Minister Vasundhararaje Scindia, Chattisgarh Chief Minister M Raman Singh were among the high-profile visitors.
 
Opposition Leader LK Advani along with Kamala, daughter Pratibha and son Ranjan Bhattacharya and his wife also visited the hospital.
 
Shiv Sena excutive president Uddhav Thackeray, MP Manohar Joshi, MP Sanajy Raut, Singer Abhijeet, Pankaj Udhas, Raza Murad, Dharmendra were among other visitors.  Uddhav said, “It’s good that Mahajan’s health has improved and he could recognise family members,” he said.
 
Many Congress leaders like Union Minister for Textile Shankar Shingh Waghela, MPCC president Prabha Rau, MP Priya Dutt, MLA Suresh Shetty also visited the hospital. 
 
RSS chief KS Sudarshan, in a letter, has wished Mahajan a speedy recovery. He has expressed shock over the incident and said it was surprising to learn that Pravin had shot at his own brother who treated him like a son. The letter has been written to Mahajan’s wife Rekha.
 
Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat expressed satisfaction about the treatment being given to Mahajan, adding that the doctors were doing their best.
 
BJP spokesperson Vijaykumar Malhotra told DNA that the decision on the operation would be taken on Monday morning.
 
Late in the evening, Revenue Minister Narayan Rane and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Mahajan at the hospital.
 
Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee said, ‘’He will defeat death and bring home the message of success.”
 
During a brief interaction with the media after meeting the 56-year-old party general secretary, Vajpayee said, “I have faith. Mahajan will succeed in this test. I have personally seen Pramod. He is improving. It’s good news for everybody,” added Vajpayee. Later in the evening, Vajpayee returned to Delhi.
